Climate change is a vast term, and here it can be focused down into specific instances of relevance to peoples’ lives. Weather Matters is a space for debate and conversation among scholars with an interest in weather and climate change. Not a journal, it is somewhere for the currently disparate field to talk about what we are doing, why, how to do it, and for book reviews, conference reviews and photo essays. Contributions to Weather Matters are very welcome, anything from book reviews, opinion pieces, fieldnotes, photo essays, as long as it concerns the study and communication of weather and climate change. “Understanding the human implications of climate change” is the tagline of the Weather Matters hub, a space for conversation among scholars and stakeholders concerned about climate change. This conversation is kept alive through short pieces on climate and weather. Weather Matters also functions as a resource by collecting calls for papers and other internet content for its Web Roundup pages, job opportunities for its Positions Vacant page, and current seminars and conferences for its Events page. Weather Matters (@weathermatter) is curated by Dr. Heid Jerstad, a GCRF postdoctoral fellow at the University of Edinburgh.
