Koch schlägt mir das Zeltmodell vor, das früher vielfach in Westgrönland benützt worden ist, und das auch Drygalski auf der Südpolarexpedition gebraucht hat. Nur 3 Stangen, aber eine Menge Seitenpardiener. Vielleicht etwas größer als gewöhnlich. Dies Zelt soll besonders bequem sein und sehr ruhig im Sturm stehen. Aber Fußboden nötig (bei dem in Gebrauch befindlichen Modell ist kein solcher vorhanden). Als Entree eines unserer gewöhnlichen Reisezelte mit Bambusstangen, aber etwas länger. Muß fest aufgenäht sein. Das große Zelt muß doppelt sein und aus schwerem Stoff bestehen. Nur der Leegiebl aus durchscheinendem, für Tageslicht. Koch meint, das Gewicht eines solchen Zeltes alles in allem würde nicht mehr als einige 100 Pf sein,

Koch has suggested the tent model to me which has been used extensively in the past in Western Greenland, and which Drygalski used on his South Polar expedition too. Only 3 poles, but a large number of guy ropes. Perhaps a little larger than usual. This tent is supposedly particularly comfortable and remains very stable in storms. Flooring necessary though (there is no such flooring in the model currently in use). As a vestibule, one of our usual travel tents with bamboo poles, but a little longer. Must be firmly sewn on. The large tent must be doubled and made of heavy material. Only the leeward flap to be made of translucent material, to let in the daylight. Koch thinks that the weight of such a tent would not be more than several 100 lb altogether,
