“The Limits to Growth and the Future of Humanity”

Meadows, Dennis L. | from Multimedia Library Collection:
Sound & Vision

Dennis L. Meadows, one of the original members of the Club of Rome and co-author of The Limits to Growth, visited the Rachel Carson Center in December 2013 as part of our Sustainability Lecture Series. Meadows’s influential 1972 book, co-authored with Donella H. Meadows, Jørgen Randers, and William W. Behrens III, modeled the consequences of a rapidly growing world population and finite resource supplies. Dennis L. Meadow’s lecture, “The Limits of Growth and the Future of Humanity,” given at Munich’s Amerika Haus to a standing-room only crowd, was followed by a lively debate. He also led staff and fellows through his “Tower of Babylon” game and took part in a question and answer session with Carson Fellow Donald Worster.
