[167] York zu gehen.- Man beginnt jetzt mehr und mehr mit der Möglichkeit zu rechnen, daß es mit M.E. und seinen Begleitern schief gegangen ist. Gestern war die Rede davon, daß Friis die Beschreibung der Expedition in diesem Falle übernehmen soll an Stelle von Trolle, dem es kontraktmäßig zukommt.

24. Oktober [1907]. Heute haben wir die Instrumente für die Lysevig-Station verpackt, und morgen sollen Freuchen und Weinschenk abmarschieren. Proviant u.s.w. soll dann mit Hundeschlitten nachgeschickt werden. Ich habe den Plan gefaßt, die wegen Mangel an Hundefutter notwendig werdende Shannon-Expedition, die bei dem dortigen Depot den Winter zubringen soll, zu benutzen, um eine 3. meteorologische Station zu erhalten. Das würde ein gutes Material für die Zugstraßen
