In this article, Sarah Strauss and Carrick Eggleston track the transition to renewable energy in the village of Auroville in South India. Here, the community has been able to adapt to cultural and landscape changes, overcoming limitations of site and scale. As a result, over time, community solar and wind installations have partly given way to more resilient connections. Auroville’s changing energyscape has coevolved with its diverse range of community members, who have created a built environment that offers new ways of thinking about community, prosperity, and sustainability.
