The Geologic Challenge of the Anthropocene

Ziolkowski tackles the problem of defining the Anthropocene from a geologic perspective. Where traditionally, evidence of the Earth’s activity is preserved in the rock, this is not possible when it comes to the impact of fossil fuel use on the environment. It is most likely that the rock will record a different marker of our existence based on our advances in technology, but how this record will play out over time remains to be seen.
