In 1965, the first scientific conference on the causes of climate change took place in Boulder, Colorado, in the US. At the conference various scientists, including Edward Lorenz, pointed out the chaotic nature of the global climate. The conference also marked the beginning of greater scientific interest in the causes and possible future scenarios of global warming.
