Paul and Anne Ehrlich’s book The Population Bomb

Not least due to its alarmist tone, Paul and Anne Ehrlich’s book The Population Bomb was highly successful in raising public awareness about overpopulation. In the authors’ opinion, the exponential increase in human population would lead directly to mass starvation, major societal upheavals, and negative environmental impact. The book is often compared to Thomas Robert Malthus’s An Essay on the Principle of Population for its treatment of questions concerning population growth and finite resources.
