Die Pointe der Sendung Brünlows war, er sollte Thostrup mit zum Depot bringen, weil von dort aus Hundefutter u.s.w. für unsere Rückreise ausgelegt werden sollte. Am nächsten Tage gingen B. u. Th. an, aber erst zu Mittag. Es kam nämlich ein Bär, und B., folgte ihm etwas 1 Stunde, ohne ihn aber erreichen zu können. Auch ich beteiligte mich im Anfang an dieser Jagd, die mir wenigstens etwas Motion verschaffte, die ich nach all diesem Stillliegen gut vertragen konnte. Abends begann ich mit meiner Observation, bei der mir Koch in der aufopfernden Weise (es war eine Qual, in der Kälte zu observieren) half.
