[106] und unsere Reise in ihr. Wieder haben wir 18 km zurückgelegt, und wieder haben wir nichts anderes gesehen als Schnee und Himmel. Gestern und heut sind wir nach dem Barometer entschieden bergab gegangen (zusammen ca 50 m), so daß es nun damit wohl Ernst wird. Dieses neue Ereignis haben wir denn heute mit einem großen Festmittag gefeiert. – Noch 340 km.
[106] and our travels are as monotonous as the desert itself. Again we put 18 km behind us, and again we saw nothing but the snow and the sky. Yesterday and today, the barometer indicated that we had gone a considerable distance downhill (altogether about 50 m), so now it’s getting serious. We celebrated this event with a big feast. – Another 340 km to go.
