World Wildlife Foundation

The World Wildlife Foundation (not to be confused with the World Wildlife Fund) focuses on purchasing land for biodiversity conservation and endangered species habitat preservation. The organization creates large data sets that contain information about the locations and migration patterns of endangered wildlife. They then recruit landowners in designated areas to agree to measures to protect these animals. In return for their agreement not to hunt or trap endangered wildlife, the World Wildlife Foundation commits itself to financially compensating the landowners for wildlife-related damages, e.g., livestock depredations or economic losses.
