Wenn man im Weddelmeere vordringt, so würde man eine Station an der ersten Stelle errichten, wo man auf Land stößt, und dann der Küste folgen. Finden sich weitere schneebare Landstrecken, so würde man Depots auslegen, welche eine Verbindung mit der Station ermöglichen sollen. Das Schiff würde so weit wie möglich weiter fahren und ungefähr in der Mitte des Weddelmeeres, so weit südlich wie möglich überwintern. Vielleicht würde sich Gelegenheit bieten, mit dem Schiff noch eine Depot nach W auszulegen. Liegt das Winterquartier in der Nähe von schneefreiem Lande, so muß hier ein zweites Stationshaus errichtet werden. Im Herbst dann Proviantauslegung nach W und
