[007] Schnee zeigte keine Spur von Detail und man sah nur eine ganz gleichmäßig fahle Fläche unter sich. Mehrmals fuhr ich dann zusammen in der Meinung der Schlitten stände still, und ich mußte dann auf die eifrig arbeitenden 16 Hundehinterbeine sehen, um nicht ganz zu überzeugen, daß wir noch mit der gewohnten Geschwindigkeit über den Schnee dahin glitten. Endlich sahen wir das Licht, das die andere Partie, die schon Zelt aufgeschlagen hatte, für uns angesteckt hatte, und nach Überwindung der letzten „Skon – is“ [dän. ” Schraubeis”] Schollen, deretwegen M. E. hier gestoppt hatte, erreichten wir das Land und den Zeltplatz. Wir waren dicht unter Haystack, jener so überaus charakteristischen Stelle, die mit einer schmalen, flachen Landzunge mit dem,
